On November 22–23, 2025, Professor Zhu Yun and a student team from Shanghai Theatre Academy’s School of Creative Studies attended an awards event hosted by Tsinghua University for the Design+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship (International) Competition: Traditional Culture Games Dongfeng program. The competition explores the integration of design, entrepreneurship, innovative games and emerging technology to support creative transformation and development of traditional Chinese culture.
Club Member An Yanrui's Ruyi Book Receives an Award
At the awards event, GLTOP Club member An Yanrui and fellow collaborators from Shanghai Theatre Academy presented their joint project, Ruyi Book, whose distinctive artistic perspective and innovative interaction earned first prize。
Ruyi Book combines small-seal Chinese script and interactive narrative puzzles . Players follow a modern-day girl across time, solving puzzles and reconstructing characters to explore the beauty of Chinese writing. Its Chinese-inspired visuals, creative mechanics and cultural depth received strong praise from the judges.
Project Highlights:
Innovative Interaction: a small-seal-script character-finding mechanic introduces players to the appeal of Chinese writing;
Dual-Timeline Storytelling: ancient and modern storylines explore the continuity of writing and belief;
Cultural Heritage: traditional Chinese culture is woven into play, finding new expression through digital interaction.
Looking Ahead
GLTOP Club will continue working with Shanghai Theatre Academy and other educational institutions on innovative projects combining games and culture. We believe cross-disciplinary collaboration will help more ideas and talent emerge, opening new possibilities for digital cultural heritage and innovation .
The club will also continue supporting collaborative technical research and education to encourage closer connections between games, culture and education and nurture more innovative developers.
Congratulations to the Team!
GLTOP Club warmly congratulates An Yanrui and the team. We look forward to Ruyi Book gaining wider industry attention and sharing Chinese culture, while supporting the development of more outstanding projects.
